Last night, the 90th annual Academy Awards aired on televisions worldwide. The show was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

Retired NBA All-Star, Kobe Bryant, took home his first Oscar for the short film Dear Basketball based on a poem he wrote in 2015. Accepting this award as Executive Producer, Bryant received his Oscar from Mark Hamill of Star Wars. Glen Keane who also had a hand in this production as the animator accepted the award with Bryant as well.

Bryant went on to say, “I mean, as basketball players, we are really supposed to shut up and dribble. But I am glad we do a little bit more than that.”
