Keisha Lance Bottoms, has been elected to succeed Mayor Kasim Reed as mayor of Atlanta, GA. In a very tight race, Bottoms, Democrat, defeated the Independent Mary Norwood by just a few hundred votes.

Norwood would have been the first white mayor in Atlanta in 40 years. Since her loss, Norwood has announced for a recount – unbelieving of the final vote which she also did when losing to Mayor Reed previously.

Atlanta residents root for Keisha Lance Bottoms and hope she exceeds the excellent job Mayor Kasim Reed has done.
