Those of us who grew up watching BET’s 106th & Park for the latest hip-hop and news probably also watched MTV’s TRL. TRL was a show that aired from 1998 to 2008 bringing so many new artists and their music into the world.

Its acronym stands for Total Request Live as, in the past, the videos played were the top ten requested by internet or phone. We are curious to see how this setup will play out in the reboot.

MTV is bringing TRL back to the scene with an all-new cast including comedian D.C. Young Fly, Tamara Dhia, Amy Pham, Erik Zachary, Lawrence Jackson.

According to Billboard, TRL will air live from Times Square weekdays at 3:30 p.m est following its Oct. 2 debut. The Migos & Ed Sheeran will perform at the premiere show.
